DETAILED ABOUT

Hello! My name is Doug Lattuca, and I am a sports broadcaster from Dix Hills, New York. I currently serve as a Broadcast Assistant for the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) and Henderson Silver Knights (AHL).

In July 2023, I accepted my first professional role as the Broadcaster and Director of Communications for the 2023 Commissioner's Cup Champion Danbury Hat Tricks of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. In my second season with the team (April 2025), I was honored with the Hat Tricks Award for my contributions both on the mic and behind the scenes, as well as the FPHL Broadcaster of the Year Award, the league’s Award of Excellence for Broadcasting.

I graduated summa cum laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in December 2022. During my four years at Syracuse, I gained extensive broadcasting experience, working with the Syracuse Men’s Club Hockey Team (ACHA), the Syracuse Crunch (AHL), WAER-FM, WJPZ-FM, and ACC Network Extra. I also broadcasted for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League in the summer of 2022 and served as a voice for the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2021.

While hockey is my passion, I have also announced multiple sports on television and radio, anchored news and sports talk shows, interviewed coaches and players, and voiced commercial spots and videos. For most kids, athletes are the stars — for me, it was always the broadcasters. I grew up admiring how announcers called the plays with passion, sophisticated sports language, and knowledge. I would rewind and listen to every detail of their calls, and I still remain my friends’ favorite video game announcer. In short, I am a sports broadcasting enthusiast, and I love being one.

As a diehard New York Rangers fan, I was introduced to broadcasting by Sam Rosen, the Rangers’ play-by-play commentator. His energy and excitement drew me in and solidified my goal to pursue sports broadcasting professionally. In 2014, I had the opportunity to meet Kenny Albert, radio broadcaster for the Rangers, during a game in which the Rangers were down 3-0 entering the final period — after speaking with Albert between periods, the Rangers scored five goals in the third to win the game, creating a lifelong memory.

Leveraging my passion for digital journalism, I developed the broadcasting program at my high school, Hills West Media, which featured a sports podcast called Colts’ Corner. The podcast won an award from the Long Island Press Association, and I later became the voice of the Colts through West TV, broadcasting Hills West athletics live.

Building on these early experiences, I established myself as a contributor to multiple school-related and external organizations and internships during my time at Syracuse, developing both broadcasting skills and leadership experience that have carried forward into my professional career.
